ANZVS CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • The presentation author must submit the abstract.
  • Only abstracts submitted in English will be reviewed.
  • Authors are required to use the abstract headings listed in the submission portal.
  • Communication regarding the abstract will be sent only to the submitting author.
  • All submissions must be made via the online abstract submission portal and adhere to the submission guidelines. Failure to do so will result in your abstract being declined. Emailed submissions will not be accepted.
  • All abstracts must be received by the advertised closing date. Submissions received after this date will not be considered.
  • Abstracts are not to include promotions of specific products/or services, unless they are integral to the context of the topic.
  • Accepted authors agree their abstract may be published in conference collateral. Authors must ensure their abstract is accurate, clear, and fully proofread before submitting, as ANZVS takes no responsibility for errors in published abstracts. 
  • Abstracts may be accepted as a different format or in a different theme than that indicated in the submission.
  • Accepted presenters must register and pay to attend the conference and are responsible for their own travel and accommodation.
  • Failure to register by the deadline will result in the removal from the program.
  • Accepted presenters must be available to present on any day of the symposium, as decided by the organising committee.
  • Production and printing of the poster is at the presenters own expense.


Prize Terms and Conditions

1.  Applications or Nominations

Applications or Nominations for any Prize must be made to the ANZVS:

1.1. In writing online via the abstract portal, and

 

1.2. The applicant must comply with the eligibility criteria. If these are not met, state why these criteria do not apply:

a.        Applications must be submitted to ANZVS by the advised closing date.

b.        By submitting an application for a Prize, participants agree to be bound by the Guidelines advertised.

 

2.   Assessment

2.1. ANZVS assesses and grants the Prize at its sole discretion. The decision of ANZVS is final, and is not subject to reconsideration, review or

appeal.

2.2. All Prizes are assessed on merit.

2.3. ANZVS may, at its sole discretion, reject any application at any time during the assessment process for any reason, including but not

limited if the application:

a.        is not competitive

b.        is incomplete or misleading

c.        contains incorrect information

d.       does not comply with eligibility criteria for that Prize

 

3.   Amendments and Deferrals

3.1. Any request to amend the terms or conditions of a Prize, including any request to defer a Prize must be made:

a.        in writing to the ANZVS, and

b.        setting out the reasons for the request

3.2. Any such request will be considered by ANZVS on a case-by-case basis and will be determined by ANZVS at its sole discretion. The

decision of ANZVS is final, and is not subject to reconsideration, review or appeal.

 

4.   Acceptance and taking up of a Prize

4.1. Prizes must be taken as offered and are not transferable or exchangeable

4.2. ANZVS reserves the rights to divide a Prize between two or more applicants where considered to be of equal merit.

 

5.   Payment of Prize Monies

5.1. Payment processing by ANZVS may take up to four weeks from receipt of bank details.

5.2. It is the responsibility of the recipient of any Prize to seek their own advice on tax matters, and no tax advice can or will be provided by

ANZVS.

 

6.   Revocation of Awards or Prizes

6.1. A Prize will be revoked by ANZVS if the recipient of a Prize:

a.        fails to fulfill the purpose of the Prize

b.        does not comply with all terms and conditions of the Prize or with these terms and conditions

c.         fails to meet the eligibility criteria for the Prize

d.        is guilty of serious misconduct, including providing inaccurate or misleading information in their application

6.2. If any of the above occurs ANZVS may, in its sole discretion require that the recipient repay the amount of the Prize to ANZVS.

 

7.   Privacy

The ANZVS complies with the requirements of the National Privacy Act 1988 (Cwlth) (Australia) and the Privacy Act 1993 (New Zealand), and has adopted the Australian National Privacy Principles as the guidelines for ensuring the protection of personal information in its care (see the ANZVS Privacy Policy).

 

8.   Conflict of Interest

The ANZVS Conflicts of Interest Policy applies.

 

9.   All decisions are final

All decisions in relation of any aspect of a Prize or these terms and conditions are made at the sole discretion of ANZVS and are final. Correspondence will not be entered into. Decisions made in relation to any aspect of the Prize, or these terms and conditions are not subject to reconsideration, review or appeal.
